Day 16 road 57 miles

We left the hostel around 7:30, with plans to do some moderate climbing in the beginning of the day, which didn't end up being to difficult :) right before we caught our big downhill we passed 2 families each with 4+ kids riding tandem bikes, the had left Virginia May 30 and were almost done, just a few days away from Anacortes WA! We were all amazed by how well behaved the kids were! After our chat with the families we hit a nice long downhill into Ione WA, we had lunch and ice cream...yum! The ice cream cones were one scoop, but they were the size of our heads!! With full stomachs we headed for our campsite, Panhandle! The ride was beautiful, along the Pend Orielle river (pronounced Ponderay) nice little rolling hills, we kicked butt and made it to the campsite by 2:30, the river was nice and cool so we jumped in with our bicycle clothes on and considered that to be our shower and laundry for the day! :) The campsite was right next to the river, and we heard from the host that there was a moose hanging around at times, but we didn't get to meet the guy!
