first day was challenging but fun.  We took off around 9 and spent a lot of time being fooled by google bike map.  It took awhile to get out of Portland and some difficult climbs.  Once on the road it was pretty.  The weather was perfect, cool with a light breeze.  We went through Tillamook forest, which is gorgeous, but with a good climb of 1600 feet.  Downhill was awesome.  Because of some twists and turns we did not reach Tillamook until 9pm.  At that point we had gone 92 miles and were ready to stop.
